Street Art Kansas City is made to showcase the ever-changing art scene of Kansas City. While these pieces come and go, each one should be appreciated to it's fullest. That is why we have created a virtual gallery for you to enjoy, however we highly recommend going to explore these places for yourself and meeting the community that is involved.
Street Art and Urban Life
Street art and the urban world have lived together for a very long time. This is because we as people make art that everyone can see for a number of reasons. We create an identity for ourselves and our neighbors, we color a normally sterile environment, we speak our minds through it, and we connect ourselves with our surroundings.
Some Disclaimers
As it stands at the moment, Kansas City's future is looking to be a bright one, but we want to make sure of it. The goal of our effort is to promote the creation of the vibrant urban core that Downtown KC hasn't seen since the 1920s. Working along side larger initiatives like the KC Greenline and Street Car to make downtown truly pedestrian and urban, artist get the opportunity to turn our environment into something that we would like to keep for a long time.

While some of these murals are no longer existing or viewable, we respect that each artist has taken their time and resources to add to our environment. We do not take the credit of these works. Again, we ask that you visit these places or follow these artist. If you spot an art piece or atist that we do not have, please contact us.
What is Street Art?
While many people think of Street Art as things like spray painted murals or local graffiti artists, we think of it as something bigger. To us, street art is a human touch of the built environment. This means that any color or identity of a building should be considered as street art. A colorful doorway? Art. A mural overlooking a parking lot? Identity. Even just a thoughtfully placed group of colored chairs can invoke the mind. That is why we want to promote the creation of street art, so we can all enjoy the world we have made together.
